LOCAL PARTNERSHIPS
MISSION SOUTHSIDE
Mission Southside's mission is to take Jesus to people in need by extending help and hope. They are based out of Olathe and dedicated to reaching our immediate neighborhoods and showing Christ's love. We partner with Misson Southside with various opportunities throughout the year including "homework huddle" tutoring, items and man power when there is a need, summer backyard VBS, Easter Egg hunts and various other community events.
GOVERNOR'S COURT
The Governor's Court Site Team developed as a result of the school partnership. As our relationships with the families at Rolling Ridge grew, we saw the need to spend more time together in addition to the monthly meals. Many of the families that have students at Rolling Ridge live in nearby apartments. The site team was then born. We currently are gearing up for our third summer of weekly activities! Each Wednesday, we will provide a simple meal and share in fun activities with the families that live in the area. We will also have a week-long "Backyard Bible Club" in the month of June. This is still our best way to reach families in a meaningful, Christ-centered way.
HOMEWORK HUDDLE/ESL
We have a team who meets during the school year providing "homework huddle" each Tuesday for student at Rolling Ridge living in Governor's Court apartments. The kids are always ready at 4:00 to play games, share snacks, and finish homework. Books are available to work on reading skills and educational games are played if they do not bring homework. We have also began ESL classes with the moms of the some of the students. This group usually has 2-6 women in attendance and has been a wonderful experience for all involved.
ROLLING RIDGE SCHOOL
Redeemer became the church partner for Rolling Ridge Elementary School beginning in the fall of 2013. We teamed up with Principal Ernst seeing the need for quality time and meals together for these families. We now provide a free monthly meal for the students and families at Rolling Ridge. As the partnership has grown, many students from the school help with serving the meals! In addition to the monthly meals, we have encouraged teachers with fresh breakfasts at least once a year and various other surprise treats around the holidays.
